February in Florida

Last Sunday was such a gorgeous day that we decided to take Addison to the beach to walk the pier and play in the sand a little. She went NUTS as soon as she saw all of the birds. She chased them a little and then realized that she could eat the sand. I love the look on her face. I guess it didn't taste good.
Still eating the sand. I hope she realizes on her own that it's not meant for eating. She got mad at me when I tried to take her hand out of her mouth. We were not out there long because of this.

Look at that crazy person in the background splashing in the water. It was nice that day, but still cool outside. There is no way you would catch me anywhere near the water.

Left, right, left

Addison is getting closer to "officially" walking. Both last night and tonight she took 3 steps towards Michael. She still won't step towards me, but we're getting there.

She also has a third tooth on the top that I don't think I have mentioned on the blog. It's so funny because it's not in the middle but to the right of the middle. Her new nickname is snaggletooth. Last night I was feeling around in there and felt her 4th tooth popping through. It's on the top, but still not in the middle. This one is to the left. What's going on with the middle teeth?

Two more for the baby book.

(P.S. - Addison's 10 month album is on Shutterfly.)

Meet Maggie

Addison LOVES dogs!!! And she really liked Maggie. Maggie is the new addition to Michael's sister's family. We ventured out to the park while we were in TN last weekend and Addison had such a good time playing with their cute little 8 week old beagle.

There was a big field at the park and Addison just took off crawling. Maggie would chase her and Addison would have to pause to make sure she was still there.

I was just telling Michael tonight that I love to hear Addison laugh. It's one of the best sounds in the world and always puts a smile on my face. Thanks to Maggie for the laughs.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

My grandpa would have been 92 years old today. To celebrate, we will be having at least one of his favorites. I'd like to have all of them, but as you can see, grandpa had a bit of a sweet tooth.

*Entenmann's coffee cake
*Chocolate cake - or any kind of cake for that matter
*Cookies
*Tootsie Rolls - from the fridge, not room temperature
*Milk
*Rye bread with real butter - not margarine
*Root beer floats

Still think about you and miss you everyday.

10 months old

My baby girl turned 10 months old on Sunday and to celebrate we went bowling and roller skating. Okay, that was really for us, but she had fun. We were in Tennesse for the weekend visiting Michael's family so we all went...brother, sister, significant others, nieces, nephews and a few of their friends. We may have looked like dorks, but we all enjoyed it. My legs are finally back to their normal state after being in slight pain for two days. Sad, I know.

Thanks to Scott and Angela for watching Addison while we bowled and skated. She slept most of the time and while awake she liked watching me go round and round the rink. Here she is at the bowling alley chewing on Scott's nose - I think. Snacking on some cheese at the skating rink.Less than two months to plan for the party and festivites. I am SOOOO excited!

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day

Michael took me to PF Chang's for lunch on Valentine's Day so we could hang out with Addison that night and not have to worry about a babysitter. Addison got a ton of valentine's from family and friends. Thanks to everyone who sent her a nice note and something for her piggy bank. Here are a couple of pics from that night. Here she is opening her package from Aunt Shannon. Thanks for the bath toys. She even likes them out of the water.
And here she is standing on her own again. This time she found Michael's keys.

Promise to self

I just uploaded new pics to Addison's 9 month album and I'm working on the 10 month one now. I know I've been slacking in that department lately. The problem is not taking them, it's finding the time to download, edit and organize them all.

I also have a Valentine post and some other tidbits coming. Moral of the story? I promise I will go back to my old ways of overloading you with pictures!

No pictures ???

Not sure why the zoo pics are not showing up. I will repost tonight since I don't have my camera with me. Sorry to all those who didn't get to see them. Check back tonight or tomorrow.

Also, Addison's teachers said she took 2 steps at school yesterday. She did about 1.5 for us last night and then lunged forward for me to catch her. She thinks it's a fun game. I'm sure she'll face plant one day when I'm not there to catch her and that will be the end of that.

Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY!

More like gorillas and jaguars and birds. We took Addison to the zoo yesterday. I've been in this town for 8 years and have never been to the zoo. So, it was the first time for all of us. It turned out to be the perfect day. I thought for sure Addison would go nuts over the large animals, since she's so in to dogs. She liked them, but not as much as...(keep reading).
(Not sure what this thing is.)

THE BIRDS!!! She loves them! When we're playing outside she stops what she's doing to watch and listen to the birds flying overhead. We almost didn't go in the atrium, but I'm so glad we did. She watched Michael's every move while he fed the birds.

And the ride home. She was so good all day. I can't wait to take her back soon.

Just a swingin'

Welcome the new addition to the Sharp family - the Britax Marathon. Since Addison is now 29 inches long, she can no longer sit in "the bucket" as I like to call it. So we headed down to the fire station last Saturday so they could show us how to install it correctly. Glad we went. Found out that because of the pull down console in the back seat that she should have been on the side of the car, not the middle, this whole time (oops!). Now she's closer to the window and in a bigger seat and LOVING every minute of it. So am I!
Once we were done we headed to the park near the station. This was her first real visit. Addison was ready for a nap, but she had fun swinging with Mommy.

One step closer

I caught Addison standing on her own. You have to look closely, but she's not holding on. Those are Michael's socks in her hands. She loves to take the neatly folded laundry out of the basket.

My little ham

Addison's new favorite places to hang out are the bathroom (I try to keep her out, but she thinks it's a game to bypass me and make her way in there) and the kitchen. This is her under the table doing her cackle laugh. I have it on tape and have to post it soon.
And I just couldn't resist this photo op. Chillin' with her Dad Saturday morning. She loves her daddy.
