29 weeks, 1 day: Same ole...

It's been awhile, but not much is going on. I began the search for childcare this past week or so. It's going pretty good. We've seen a couple of places that we really like and some that we haven't. The more we see though, the easier it makes to compare. I think we've narrowed it down to two. The weekends have still been busy with cleaning and getting ready. We have one more childbirth class to go and then we should be completely ready for the baby...ha ha! Yeah right. I really do feel like they've been somewhat informative. We went this past weekend on a search for a rocker/glider and the order is in. It should be here in 6 weeks or so. It's the last big piece for the nursery. The crib is set up, but the furniture still needs to be rearranged. It's pretty heavy stuff so it will have to wait until our friends come in town in two weeks. Once that's complete I'll post some finished pictures.

Nothing much really new. Same old stuff...having trouble sleeping, rib still hurting, baby kicks all the time. Time is ticking away and it's getting closer. I'm getting really excited. February is a short month and it will be here before I know it. Doc appt next Thursday and then I'll probably start going more frequent.

Talk soon!

27 weeks, 3 days: Pass the chocolate chip cookies!

Got the results from my 3 hour glucose test and I'm free to eat the cookies! They have turned into my new craving. I guess I should be lucky that I made it this long without really indulging in the sweets. Still testing RH negative so I went yesterday and had my Rhogam shot. Wasn't too bad. Just the sight of a needle freaks me out, but when all is said and done it never hurts as bad as I think it will.

Went to our first childbirth class and got to catch up with some old friends who are having twins. Had another reality check when I realized how many things we don't have and what else we still need to do. I'm ordering some decorations for the nursery this weekend and hope to go get some sort of rocker. I hope to finish it soon. We did a lot of 'spring cleaning' this passed weekend and made room for some things. It's all coming together...slowly.

Other info...I have a little trouble breathing if I'm sitting in the wrong position. My rib area has been hurting a little more, but no need for concern. And the baby becomes very active when I drink rootbeer. Guess she likes it!

26 weeks, 5 days: No sugar for me!

Iron?
Good. Glucose test? Not so good. Went to the doc on Thursday and failed the one hour test. Now I have to go to the lab on Monday, sit there for 3 hours and do the long test. It's Sunday already so I have to fast for 12 hours before going. I'm trying to stay away from the sugar completely so I don't fail this one. I was told by the nurse that people who are on the edge (like me, I got a 140 instead of the 139 that I needed to pass) usually pass the 3 hour test. If not, then I do in fact have gestational diabetes and who knows what will happen. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I have to give blood again while I'm there to test for the antibodies I could be producing (the RH negative thing I tested for months ago). If those show up, then I have to get a shot of Rhogam and I should be good to go.

The baby checked out good at the appt. Her heartbeat was 155 and the doc says I'm measuring on time. What's the magic number for the month? Well...another 5 pounds. So now I weigh 129 - up 25 total so far. I was a little worried about what the doc was going to say, but he wasn't concerned at all. Says I'm still doing good. That may change after tomorrow when I go for this test...he he! Everything else is great! I feel good, but I'm having trouble sleeping at night. I toss and turn and make at least 2 or 3 trips to the bathroom. I feel bad for Michael. He's such a light sleeper and I'm afraid I'm keeping him up all night. Guess he better get used to it!

Our first childbirth class is tomorrow. We missed the first one b/c of the Gator game so hopefully we can catch up. I hope to start decorting the nursery over the next month. April feels like it's creeping up so it's time to get on the ball. I'm still on the 4 week schedule for the doc, so the next appt isn't until Feb. 8th. I'll update soon!

It's great, to be, a FLORIDA GATOR!!!

And it's a great day in Gator Country! We watched the game with some friend's last night and this was my attire before the game. It was a blast! (I'm sure I'll be paying for it this afternoon.)

Doc appt on Thursday so I'll update more then.

Go Gators!!!
