New trick

Much to my surprise, Addison had her own gift for Michael on Father's Day. Somehow she learned to climb on the coffee table, which for us is an old trunk. It's nice having this trunk because it's not as dangerous as a traditional coffee table (no pointy corners) and the wear and tear make it look more authentic. Enjoy our little monkey.

BTW - She's much better at the dismount now.

Spoon

Addison has been walking around the house lately with her spoon and fork from her kitchen set, putting them in anything round, and pretending like she's eating. Last night I decided to let her have her own yogurt to see what happens when she tries to feed herself with the spoon. It started off okay.

Then this happened. Notice the spoon in the other hand, far away from her mouth. It started to become more of an art project at this point.

And finally, she looks up at me and says, "All done". I happen to catch it at the perfect time. I guess she had enough of the spoon. Not bad for her first go at it.

Quick note - Addison is saying so many words already. And yesterday she started repeating sounds that animals make. More on this in a different post soon.

More PB&J

Some pictures from the other night. This little girl cracks me up. Check out those teeth. I think all of her bottom teeth are coming in at the same time. And I can't get enough of those eyes.

This is what I get when I ask her to hold still and smile. We're in for it.

Video

This is what life is like everyday with Addison. She was in such a great mood Friday night. She just got done eating her dinner so I gave her some of my PB&J. This is her. Playing under the table, peanut butter on her face, chatting, waving and being her happy self.

More swimming

It's Florida and it's hot. What else is there to do. We went to our friend Scott and Kara's house this past weekend to eat steaks, swim, and chat. Here's our little fish. Don't you just love that bikini.

One for the books

6/13/08 - We're having a little contest here at work and I had to take a picture of the price of gas this morning. I thought it would be fun to document for when I print this blog someday.

Watching daddy

Love this picture! Addison gets so excited when Michael cuts the grass. She normally goes up to the back door and bangs on it while yelling "dada" the whole time. We decided to sit outside the other day and this is how I caught her. Watching his every move.

Wagon

My mom gave Addison this wagon back around Easter. It sat in the corner for awhile because she wasn't sure what to do with it. One day we catch her pulling it around the house and now she's hooked. This was one night last week right before bed. (Click to play the video.)

Thanks Grandma for the wagon!

Silly girl

Addison sure does make us laugh. These are her new things. She takes a blanket, puts it over her head and proceeds to walk around. Like any good parent, we sit back and watch her as she runs into things - the tv, coffee table, couch, wall - wondering how long it will take her to realize that she can't see with the blanket covering her eyes. Truth is, she's somewhat cautious and seems to like her game. And there is never any major injuries.

Ducks. Addison loves them! She's been saying the word duck for quite sometime now and the other day I counted 5 of them laying around the house. This one is her favorite. She puts it in her mouth and walks around with it. Not holding it, just in her mouth. Now she thinks it funny and likes to show off her new trick. Here she is hamming it up for the camera at dinner on Friday.

A quick thanks to Rusty and Krista for coming to visit. We had a great time and hope that you will come back to visit soon.

The beach

We made our first official trip to the beach on Saturday. Addison LOVED IT!! She headed right for the water, ate some sand and if we wouldn't have stopped her she would be halfway to the Caribbean by now. She has no fear. She even took a tumble when a wave knocked her over and seemed to enjoy it.

No laughing. Michael and I haven't been in the sun much this year. I think Addison has more of a tan than we do.
