Dinnertime

I just got done putting this little video together and I have to point out a few things. It really isn't that special. It's just dinner, but for some reason I found tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard when I just watched it. The "wee wee" is because she is kicking her legs under the table. And the cheesy smile? Well, I think that says enough. Click to play.

Here's a couple of pictures also. And to think that Addison has a photoshoot next week. I'm starting to get nervous.

Ice cream cone

Michael just sent me this picture taken with his cell phone. I think this is Addison's first official ice cream cone that she's eaten by herself. I think she did pretty good.

Lollipop

Trying to get a 16 month old to sit still while eating a lollipop is almost impossible. She sat in Michael's lap for a few minutes and then we just tried to keep her on the couch. At least the leather is easy to wipe off. I love how she holds the stick as close to the top as she can and how half of her hand is in her mouth.

At the time she was eating we had the weather on to get an update on the approaching storm. She was concentrating so hard on what the Mayor had to say.

She really did enjoy that lollipop.

Trying to stay dry

I think we're all going a little bit crazy being stuck in the house for so long. Last night was the worst. The wind and rain really hit us and I was up half of the night. Not really worried, just couldn't sleep because it was so loud. It seemed like we were going to get a 5 minute break from the rain this morning so I headed out to take Addison for a walk. Right after I got her shoes on it starting pouring. Me, Addison and Caeley (from next door) braved the wind and rain for a few minutes and splashed in the puddles. It was fun until the rain started to hurt. The rest of the morning Addison and I hung out in our fort.

She has been such a trooper. Last night Michael brought dinner home and we had a picnic in the living room. I'm running out of ideas though. I'm ready for Fay to move on. We had a two hour break from the rain this afternoon so I was able to take some pictures. Our pond is the highest I've ever seen it, up probably 4 feet. The pond is usually below the neighbors palm trees and Michael normally has to mow around the Willow tree.

That's what's been going on. So far we've been lucky with the power. It went out this afternoon for about an hour, but that's it. There are about 82,000 people without power right now and I sure am glad I'm not one of them. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Fay

School has been closed for two days now so that has turned our week upside down a little. And in addition to that, I have a virus on my work computer making it harder for me to get things done at work and at home. I'm sitting here at work now, watching the sky get darker, the wind get stronger and the rain slowly start to fall. I'm heading home soon so Michael can go to work this afternoon. The moral of my story? I haven't had much time to download pictures and post, but I will be back at it soon.

Hanging out

Addison's school was closed on Friday so we had some mommy and daughter time. It went a little something like this. (Please excuse the boogers in the second picture.)

About 5 seconds after I put the camera down she decided to toss the glass container of relish on the floor. I then spent the next 20 minutes trying to clean up the glass and keep her out of it at the same time. Wish I would have gotten a picture of that.

And this is what we see everyday. Her latest obsession is Michael's eye drops. She loves to carry them around, chew on them, and pretend to put them in your eyes. They are in every room of our house because Michael is a little obsessed with them also. "Ahy dop, ahy dop", she says. We rarely see her without them.

Loves the water

The cable people dug a huge hole in our yard last week (which Michael wasn't happy about). Michael went out one afternoon to water the repaired grass and I wish I had a picture of Addison's face when she heard the water turn on. She went running towards the hose and couldn't get enough. I think Michael had fun too.

Weekend getaway

Michael's sister and her family were in town for the weekend and were excited to watch Addison while Michael and I had a little time to ourselves. On Friday night we headed to the Inn on Charlotte, a bed and breakfast in St. Augustine. We were there about two years ago and liked it so much that we decided to visit again. Lynn, the owner of the Inn, is such a great hostess and the breakfast is so good.

We both did a lot of shopping at the outlets on Saturday, breaking for massages mid day. That night we went to dinner at Raintree. The food was good and the dessert so yummy. Michael and I had a really good time. We missed Addison so much, but the alone time was much needed. It was really nice to come home Sunday afternoon to a big hug and a kiss from her. She really is the sweetest thing ever.

Duct tape use #873

Diaper tab.

The tab tore off. No need to waste a good diaper. That's my man!

The cheerio game

I gave Addison some cheerios while I cooked dinner. I turned the corner to find this. She doesn't understand the concept of pulling out one cheerio at a time. The game for her is pouring them all out and putting them back in. And why are there two pictures? After helping me pick them all up she did it all over again. Love the grin! So mischievous.

I took Addison in for her 15 month checkup yesterday. She weighed in at 21 lbs 8 oz and is 32.25 inches tall. That's 2.25 inches in 3 months. She's currently 25th percentile for weight and 90th for height. Still long and lean. She had to get two shots, arm and leg this time. Poor thing. I teared up a little she cried so hard. But like always, she was calm within 30 seconds. And was really happy when I let her have her purple lollipop when we got home.
